Auckland

Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and was recently voted as having the 5th highest standard of living in the world. The vibrant waterfront area is the place to be. Here you will find a great selection of bars and restaurants, many with views of the harbour, where you can sample outstanding food and NZ wine. A walk up to Mount Eden is also worth all the huffing and puffing. The highest natural point in the city you will be rewarded with, breath taking, 360 degree panoramic views.
If top notch local designer clothing is what your after then you should visit the historic neighbourhood of Ponsenby. Filled with charming wooden villas this is where the hip cafe crowd hang out. It´s also a poplular nightime venue where locals and tourists come to dine or enjoy the local music scene.

Auckland is also a good base to travel from. Why not consider visiting exciting destinations such as Rotorua, Taupo and the Bay of Islands.
