Each day has a grammatical item which is themed throughout the day’s teaching. This item is presented formally and then the language skills and vocabulary are developed during the day using activities, role plays, video, etc, but always with direct or discrete reference to the day’s grammatical item.

In addition to the General Spanish classes, you can also chose to add 4 or 6 extra oral communication lessons in reduced class sizes of 6 students to enable maximum participation.

During the Oral Communication lessons, you will join in a reduced class of 6 students, so that you can have more time to practice Spanish conversation with other students, and gain more attention from your teacher.

It is a 4 week course dedicated to prepare you for the examination. If you already have the required level of Spanish, this programme can be taken as an independent 4-week course.

If your Spanish level is lower than the required level, you will first join in a General Spanish course, in order to achieve the required level.

The teaching materials while based on the schools own textbooks can also draw on specialised materials from your specific field of interest. In addition, the teaching yemethodology can also be adapted to your preferred method of learning.

The teaching methodology of this course is very different to that of our other courses: the focus is on practical Spanish to enable the participants to use Spanish in the typical situations they will encounter in everyday life such as:

• asking for directions
• introducing themselves
• ordering drinks or food in a restaurant
• renting a car or booking a hotel room
• buying food in the market

The activities are sometimes integrated with the lessons (eg. learning the language of food items and then visiting the market to buy food for a paella which they learn how to cook)

The course includes:

• Intensive Course: 4 lessons per day of general Spanish at all levels from beginner upwards
• 2 cooking lessons each week: Each lesson will comprise a brief introductory talk and the preparation of a complete menu.
• 2 dinners per week, including wine: the participants enjoy a meal with the teacher
• 1 cultural talk per week on gastronomy topics: in Spanish of course!
• Cookery textbook: an illustrated recipe book including the most famous Spanish dishes.
• A cook’s apron: a stylish apron to use during the course and to take home.
• 1 local visit: a visit to a place of gastronomic interest in Malaga
• Farewell lunch (2 week course only)

For the afternoon’s dance lessons, the school offers 2 dance options:

• Salsa: salsa and other Latin American dances
• Flamenco: an introduction to the world of Flamenco via Sevillanas, Rumbas and other typical Flamenco dance styles

In the last few years the school has added an excellent dance studio which has a wooden dance floor, full air-conditioning, a practice bar and mirror.
